Dr Thokozani Mtshali is a Senior Lecturer and Head of Research in Technology and Vocational Education at the Tshwane University of Technology. He holds a PhD in Education from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Dr. Mtshali has published 60 articles and book chapters in the field of Technology and Vocational Education. Dr. Mtshali has also authored 4 resource books that are used to train TVET college lecturers in the Advanced Diploma TVT program, and they include:

1. Leadership, Management, and Administration in TVET colleges.
2. Educational Studies for Technical Vocational Education and Training
3. Education studies
4. Vocational Pedagogy and Curriculum Instruction

Dr. Mtshali has supervised to completion 13 master’s and 1 PhD students in Technology Education. He continues to supervise master’s and PhD students in TVET and Educational Technology studies at TUT and UKZN, respectively. He continues to lead in various research activities in his institution and community engagement activities that aligns to his discipline. He currently runs a community engagement program with some schools of specialisation in Gauteng province, focusing on practical skills learning.
