The Research Grants office implements grant management and relevant systems administration on behalf of Unisa colleges, which are business units of the institution.

The purpose of the Pre & Post-Award offices is to

implement grant management for external funding domains through grant-making and implementation processes
manage grant processes in the most cost-effective and cost-efficient way
improve efficiency and create a more unified experience for applicants
facilitate robust electronic applications and grant management systems
facilitate the expenditure of grants
deliver on effective grant expenditure and adherence to audit and financial compliance
