Abstract Submission

Researchers, academics, practitioners, policymakers, postgraduate students, and industry partners are invited to submit abstracts aligned with the conference theme and sub-themes.

1. Abstract requirements

  • Abstracts must be original and should not have been previously published or presented at another conference.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • Submissions should clearly align with one of the conference sub-themes.
  • Authors may indicate a preference for either an oral presentation or poster presentation.
  • The Scientific Committee reserves the right to make the final allocation.

2. Abstract format

  • Title: Maximum 20 words; avoid abbreviations.
  • Word Count: 200–300 words (excluding title, author details, and keywords).
  • Include:
    • Title of the paper
    • Author(s) name(s)
    • Institutional affiliation(s)
    • Email address of the corresponding author
    • 3–5 keywords

3. Suggested abstract structure

The abstract should be structured under the following headings:

Background/context

Briefly describe the problem, context, or rationale for the study.

Purpose/objectives

Clearly state the aim(s) of the study, project, innovation, or practice.

Methodology/approach

Outline the research design, methods, framework, or approach used.

Findings/expected outcomes

Present key findings or anticipated outcomes where applicable.

Conclusion/implications

Highlight the significance of the work and its implications for open, distance, and digital education.

4. Review process

  • All abstracts will undergo a double-blind peer review process.
  • Evaluation criteria will include:
    • Relevance to the conference theme
    • Originality and innovation
    • Methodological rigour
    • Significance and practical contribution
    • Clarity and quality of writing

5. Important dates

  • Abstract submission deadline: [31 August 2026]
  • Notification of acceptance: [30 September 2026]
  • Early registration deadline: [31 December 2026]
  • Conference dates: [12-16 April 2027]

6. Publication opportunities

Accepted abstracts will be published in the Conference Abstract Book. Selected authors may be invited to submit full papers for publication in conference proceedings, edited books, or accredited journals, subject to peer review.

7. Submission portal

Abstracts must be submitted electronically through the official conference submission system. Late submissions will not be considered.
